Specializing in live production and performance-oriented live sets, Zapper has been giving dancefloors an original 100% live hardware experience, with on-the-spot nasty sound design, bass-heavy frequency knob tweaking and a real focus on the laptop-free crowd-interactive performance aspect of dance music.

Zapper has been known to rock spots, throw rocks at cops, but never use a computer to make tracks – until now.

Zapper’s brand new EP “Artificial Disaster” is his first collection of tracks arranged on Ableton Live, marking his new journey and fusion between analogue synthesizer sound-design and computer composition and arrangement. The result is like adding a steroid cocktail to Zapper’s live sound, creating a new dimension of dynamics, layers and sub-flair to his already grimy rich flavor.

With a focus more on composition and subtracting the limitations of live recordings, Zapper’s unique sound design gets to shine, revealing sweet atmospherics, deep barking bass, and broken glitched-out rhythms, all with an added new complexity.

Within his highly-evolving live set, Zapper is building a bridge between his hardware sound-design tools, the Virus TI, Korg Electribe, Kaos Pad and Roland SP-808, and his produced tracks by adding a new weapon to his arsenal: the Elektron Octatrack, a high-powered sampler that allows him to remix his own tracks on the spot and add layering and long-form composition to his set.

Besides his constant touring, Zapper returns to his NorCal renegede party-throwing roots to co-orchestrate “The Next Big Festival” this Septemeber 6-8, and is an organizer of Tetrion Camp at Burning Man. He also produces music and co-stars in the EDM comedy show “Headliners.”
